With summer right around the corner most of us are feeling the pressure! Whether you still have weight you’ve gained during the pandemic, still have from birthing a child, or you‘re just not in the shape you want to be, trust me, you’re not alone. Luckily there are hundreds of ways to lose weight in a decent amount of time. But! depending on your goals, it’s important to know what fitness plan is right for you. So let me break it down for you.
Cardio. There‘s no denying that cardio will always be an effective way to lose weight and fast. What they don’t tell you is that cardio alone can lead to you losing muscle mass resulting in a slimmer body with less definition. For some that’s perfectly fine but for others it’s not the goal and the results won‘t be satisfying. However, Cardio is still very important for overall health and wellness. Some of the benefits include, improved sleep, increase in energy, improved heart health, increased endurance and reduction of stress and anxiety. For those who are looking for a “thick fit”body, weight lifting is where it’s at!
Weight lifting, also known as strength training, has numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. Here are some of the key benefits of weight lifting:
1. Increased muscle mass: Weight lifting is one of the most effective ways to increase muscle mass and strength. When you lift weights, you create small tears in your muscle fibers, which then repair and grow stronger over time.
2. Improved bone density: Weight lifting is also an effective way to improve bone density, which can help prevent osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions.
3. Boosted metabolism: Weight lifting can help increase your metabolism, which can make it easier to maintain a healthy weight and burn fat.
4. Improved cardiovascular health: While weight lifting may not be as effective for improving cardiovascular health as aerobic exercise, it can still provide some benefits, such as reducing blood pressure and improving blood lipid levels.
5. Reduced risk of injury: Strengthening your muscles and bones through weight lifting can help reduce your risk of injury, especially as you age.
6. Improved mental health: Weight lifting has been shown to have positive effects on mental health, including reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety, improving self-esteem, and boosting cognitive function.
Overall, weight lifting can have a wide range of benefits for your physical and mental health, making it a great addition to any fitness routine.
You can definitely get the dream body you want with dedication. I’d advise a workout mixture of 80% weight lifting 20% cardio. In other articles I’ll be sharing other fitness tips along with products to help your journey.
